Small Boats - Big Fun !!

Ahoy mates!
Kids of all ages can check out some fun on Saturday and Sunday, September 19th and 20th when radio controlled sailboats take to the water. Approximate times are 10:00 am until 4:00 pm daily.
The Detroit Model Yacht Club will host the 1.7 meter National Championship Regatta in Harbor Beach.
Enthusiasts from across the Detroit area, will operate their yachts on the waters of Lake Huron. Using the bathing park pier as their control area, it should a perfect location for the club with open water and great visibility.
They may be small in size compared to the real thing, but they’re big on fun.
The yachts run entirely on wind power using only a 6-volt battery to control servos that turn the rudder and bring the sails in and out.
At around 1.7 meters (67-inches long),10-feet tall from the keel to the top of the mast, and weighing in at 22 pounds, the yachts look and react the same way a real sailboat does.
Hope to see you there!!
