CASEVILLE - It’s that time of year again when Sleeper State Park transforms from a vacation destination to a spooky and fun-filled location with four weekends of ghostly entertainment and excitement planned.
The first weekend is scheduled for Sept. 26-28 with a night hike on Friday and free popcorn. The next weekend is Oct. 3-5, followed by Oct. 10-12 and the last weekend is scheduled for Oct. 17-19.
Each weekend includes Halloween crafts, a pumpkin counting contest, a free petting zoo, a Scary Scavenger Hunt, a Sandcastle Building Contest, a Crazy Costume Parade, more contest and campsite awards, trick or treating and Ghost Bingo.
“The first two weekends we still have many openings for reservations,” said Sleeper State Park Supervisor George Lauinger. “And the last two weekends are filling up pretty quick.”
Lauinger reminds everyone the events and activities are only for registered campers and cabin guests.
